About the project

About the project

Centre for testing, R&D, mediation and expertise in the railway transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

ICC is being delivered as the first private independent testing centre in Central Asia. The mandate covers railway transport with planned expansion into adjacent sectors: oil and gas, energy, metallurgy and automotive.

Project goal

Build an internationally recognised testing and research centre by 2030, integrated into the UIC system and the Horizon Europe programmes.

Innovation

The first private independent testing centre in Central Asia with international accreditation against EN and UIC standards.

Scalability

A regional hub for Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia. Expansion into oil and gas and energy sectors in the fourth stage.

Mission

Technological independence

Building the first world-class private testing centre for the railway transport of Kazakhstan.

ICC's mandate is to build the market infrastructure that enables independent conformity assessment of railway equipment against international and national standards, addressing the absence of a unified independent certification centre in Central Asia.

Partnership

International partners

World-class technology, accreditation and consulting partners.

ICC operates in collaboration with leading international organisations. The technology partner is Ibertest (Spain), supplying testing equipment and transferring methodology. International accreditation is delivered through the European Certification Agency. Consulting support is provided by VNIIZhT, MIIT and DB Engineering & Consulting.

Technology and accreditation partners

  • Ibertest (Spain) — equipment supply, staff training, accreditation against EN and UIC.
  • European Certification Agency — international accreditation, technology and know-how transfer.

Consulting partners

VNIIZhT, MIIT, DB Engineering & Consulting — engineering and scientific cooperation. Participation of faculty members from Nazarbayev University.
